I ordered the Div 11 patch.  Just got it yesterday.  Nice looking patch but a little bigger than the RONONE pstch.

I also found my "goodie box" and found my RONONE belt buckle.  Whew!!! where did the time go???

Ron - I must thank you, I just received a copy of USCG Cutters & Craft of World War 2 - this book has been out of print many years and copies of it that I have found were going for $125-175 - followed your link the other day to e-bay found two copies up for bid by two different persons - lost the first one but got the other copy for $40.53-1 dollar above the next highest bid-it was neck to neck on the bidding but I got the my final bid in with 20 seconds to go.

Glad I could help out Jack, that's why I do these listings.  The MESQUITE Sentinel of the Door patch you see in my SigLine I got on an ebay auction, plus the Commandant's Bulletin on the Grounding of the MESQUITE which you can view in my MESQUITE photo album and a signed first edition of Coast Guard Action in Vietnam.  Ebay is a great resourse for this kind of stuff.

Not on Ebay, but a couple good deals anyway.

These will be collector's items one day.  The Division 12 patch shown as "commemorative" was the one I sent Wes Wessling who is selling the patches.  He must have added the dates on it because there are none on the original.

Jack,  I got my copy from the author and Bob Scheina signed it for me. If you can get his second one get it and Don Canney's on the revenue cutters.  I helped Don with some of the cutters I "discovered" while slogging around the archives.

Tink ... I don't know if you were just kidding or what, but the answer to your question is YES.

The ex 180-foot Ice Breaker/Buoy Tender CGC HORNBEAM is presently listed on ebay.

For the serious Coast Guard/Revenue Cutter Service collector. A Master at Arms rating badge from the RCS, sometime between 1908 & 1915. The Master at Arms rating transferred over to the CG until 1920.

Looks like it's going to fetch just over $ 100.00

Just a note of caution on this item . I notice that another one is up for sale again. All of a sudden TWO appear, raises a bit of doubt. I would almost think that someone with a good home embroidery machine is turning out replicas of the original rating badge. One sourse I read said that a quick burning of any Irish Pennants will be a give away. Synthetic thread will shrivel up vs natural may not sunge off easily.

Just an observation.

Some of the folks listing stuff onebay have no clue what it is they are selling.  The Mellon patch was NOT from the time the Mellon was in Nam.  When we deployed to Nam the Mellon was homepotred out of Honolulu.   AARRGGHH
