It was a great time Hans. Don't worry, next time I'm back conducting support for the USCG in Alameda, I'll be sure to let you know. Beer will be on my travel account (and your tax dollars).  LMAO

Went had sourdough pancakes (courtesy of the RV park), made with 75 year old sourdough. Mmmmmmmmm.....nice cool day. Great watching all the tourists with their long pants and coats in 55 degree weather. Now, just relaxing! Cool

1998 convertable? Sweet!  Can you post a picture of it?  What color is it?

Mine is a 1967.  She only has 150,000 original miles on it.  I'm the second owner.  The car was a "Fred Flintstone" car.  When I would stop at a traffic light, the lady next to me would say, "Oooh, I like your shoes!"

But I had a ton of body work on it.. new floors, new seats, new headliner, new instrument bezel, as well as new quarter panels, new bumpers, and new paint.  An old car like that is kind of a money pit.. because no matter how much you try, you can't keep the rust from starting again. This fall, she goes in the shop again for more body work.  I only drive her on nice days and for short distances... although, mechanically, she's sound.

People forget that the old cars don't have air conditioning, heaters that don't work well, no power steering and no power brakes.  She's heavy and drives like a tank.  Although the older Mustangs are fun to drive, they're not very comfortable.

Crazy Summer in S Jersey, I don't think we have topped 85 yet. Pool hasn't gotten over 79. What the heck is going on? If Summer was like this when I reported four years ago I might have started out with a better opinion of the place. Naw,, I still would have come to dislike it here.

Chris, there are now lots of options available to you to do some updating to get the Mustang a little closer to this century.  Get this, I have a 1951 Ford.  BUT, it now has disc brakes, rack and pinion steering and Air Conditioning.

There are a lot of very good aftermarket companies out there now that sell whatever is needed to update your car.

Oh, and I used to own a '66 fastback.  289, 225 HP, four speed.

Interesting article..and a sign of the times.

We lost 2 guys ..Working for the City used to be thought of as a safe secure employment.
Right now ..no where is safe..more folks will be joining the ranks soon.

I am still working, but for how long?

The two that lost there jobs ..were family men ..and one had a cdl like me..does,nt matter..since we gave up the garbage to a private contractor..the dumptuck and the roll off are the only trucks we have that require a cdl anymore..plus most folks that work where i am have a cdl anyways.

Anyhow ..at least i am almost debt free..and have a uncle sugar check..to survive not necessarly live on.

On a side note. Wellcome Chris , Glad you stop in and hope you post offent

Oh and keep the mustang as is..simple is better ..just use those vent windows or roll down the other one's if it is,nt raining.

My fellow constituents...I have ensured this bonus was possible...please provide me some financial support so I can continue to carry YOUR message in Washington..."

Yours Truly,

Lying Arse Politician.
