If my memory serves me I believe our first Ronone patches had hat pins were hand made in a back alley shop in Subic Bay.  Anyone remember for sure?

Good to see you post Gordy.  If anyone would know it would probably be GMCM Bill Wells being the historian for Squadron One.  Bill has a forum for the CGCVA which you can go to by clicking on this LINK or I am a member over there (not of the CGCVA just the forum) and I can ask him for you if you want.

Ron, I would appreciate you asking him.  I was a CGCVA for a few years then dropped out but will probably get active again.

No problem Gordy, I'd be happy to do that for you.

Hi Gordy. Welcome aboard.
I see that you are inquiring about RONONE patches. I don't know the answer to your question. I got mine at the ships store on the USS KRISHNA in An Thoi. I still have the patch and a pin in my shadow box. I have seen the patches for sale on the internet, and ebay but not lately. The CG Combat Veterans newsletter usually has them for us. I sent my last copy to a friend, so I can't check.  Try their website. There is not much demand for this stuff anymore.
Master Chief Bill Wells had some miniature pins made up for us and has them for sale.

Your Navy / CG career looks interesting. The transfer from an Arctic cruise to an 82 in 'Nam must have been fun for you.

By the way, if the 110V radar isn't working correctly, it is not my generators fault. Check your circuit boards.

Thank you for Your Service,

I still have my Blackhaw, CGACTV patch.  We had a pin to match it, but I lost it in a move somewhere along the way.  I'd love to replace it, but have to imagine that that's rarer than a RONONE pin.

Hey thanks for the KUDO'S Mike, and the same back to you.  I did my share of time in the engine room on an 82, transferring generators, cleaning jellyfish out of the strainers, and just generally helping out.
You are right about not much interest in this stuff anymore, but you must remember the Ronone group was just a drop in the bucket compared the Vn war overall. I was 23 when I was there.  Sitll have a lot of memories both good & bad.Keep afl

I was in the CGCVA for a few years but for some reason or another I drapped out.  I have another application sitting here si I guess I should send it in.

Keep afloat and thanks for the reply,
Gordy

I know about moves, after 3 wives and 10 moves I'm lucky to find my ass much less my military memorbelia.

I can relate to that problem, ET1. I solved it by having Wife #3 (and last) take my shoebox fulla **** and have a shadow box made up for a birthday a few years ago.

I stopped losing stuff immediately.
