Update on the ex IRIS WLB-395 and the ex PLANETREE WLB-307
I can confirm that the two 180s in the photo below of the Reserve Fleet in Suisun Bay are
in fact the ex IRIS and the ex PLANETREE as they are listed on page 17 of the
January 03, 2008 U.S. Department of Transportation National Defense Reserve Fleet Inventory Report.

Trailer not included.
Shipping:
This item is for Pick-up Only
Shipping Information: Item sold "where is". Assistance with shipping is generally available; however,
buyer is responsible for costs of preparing item for shipment and charges for
loading vessel onto trailer or transport
.
Not to mention bridges, tunnels and Interstate overpasses...
It would be pretty interesting to calculate the psi in the tires on that trailer and the damn boat is only 180' long.
It is a little out of my league, but if we all chipped in and took it to an atoll in the South Pacific or even a small island in the Carribean, we could clean it up and sell time shares!

About four of these would be nice...

...and maybe a couple of these...
http://www.youtube.com/AbtechVideos
...at least in the Carribean, maybe something a little heavier
in the South China Sea!

Hey Hans! Buy it, I'll help you bring it to the west coast. Heck, we could probably get a crew of volunteers from right here.

BOUY
That's awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can't even picture what "All hands, Fall in at harbor parade" would look like,
In my early career, as a deckie on the ABSECON, then based a BERKELY mooring, when leaving for sea, we would render honors to the District Commander, in the post office building, in downtown Portsmouth.
The images of this unit rendering honors are so
Well done Sir, Very Well Done. When do we report?????

Update on the ex LAUREL WLB-291
Commander Ted Scheeser (Retired), a veteran of five 180s emailed me today to
confirm that the ex LAUREL is located in Green Cove Springs, Florida. Ted talked
with the LAUREL's new owner who said, "He was going to take her to Rum Key in
the Bahamas and refit her into a cruise/treasure hunter/dive platform w/ cabins."
Ted, if you should read this ... thanks so much for your help, it is greatly appreciated!
