EX ...  oldfossil  talk about feeling old.  tip_dog who I have gotten to know a little from the other place is a retired E7.  He's also the son of my first XO on the MESQUITE.

I felt kinda old when a friend that was in Nam about the time was told me his grandosn was going to Iraq when I went there.  That's two generations younger then me!

service for the 23 Blackthorn Coasties who lost their lives in this terrible tragedy. Please join me in remembering them and
offering up a prayer for their family and friends.

Thanks for posting the pics of the memorial. I can only imagine the last moments for that crew knowing what it was like serving on a black hull and how they were laid out below and above decks...Anyway, it is so good that so many remember those that have gone on before.
